Sometimes the best Walt Disney World vacation doesn’t involve a single park.
We recently treated ourselves to a relaxing weekend at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, staying Club Level at Jambo House, and it turned out to be one of our favorite Disney resort experiences. If you’ve ever wondered whether Club Level is worth the splurge, here’s everything you can expect.

Staying Club Level with Disney Vacation Club Points
We stayed in a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Club Level Studio using DVC points, although Club Level rooms can also be booked with cash. Booking a Club Level Studio with points takes patience and perseverance because there are only a handful of these rooms. We checked frequently until availability finally opened up. If Club Level is on your Disney bucket list, don’t give up—keep checking and use the waitlist if you’re eligible.
Club Level is located on the sixth floor of Jambo House and provides access to the Kilimanjaro Club Lounge.

A Wonderful Welcome
Our experience started the moment we entered the lobby. A friendly Cast Member greeted us with our names on a welcome sign and escorted us upstairs for a private Club Level check-in. We received safari-themed Ganachery chocolates and an overview of the lounge schedule.
Breakfast: 7:00–10:00
Snacks: 11:00–4:00
Appetizers: 5:00–7:00
Desserts & Cordials: 8:00–10:00
The Perfect Resort Weekend
This trip was intentionally a no-park weekend. We spent our time relaxing around the resort and watching zebras, giraffes, gazelles, Ankole cattle and other animals from our balcony. Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of our favorite Disney resorts, and Club Level made it even more special.
The Kilimanjaro Club Lounge

The lounge became the highlight of our stay. Complimentary bottled water and canned soft drinks were available throughout the day.
Breakfast featured fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal with toppings, meats and cheeses, smoked salmon, pastries, incredible pecan sticky buns, and our absolute favorite—Disney’s chocolate chocolate chip loaf. Adults could also enjoy complimentary mimosas. One morning Claire, one of the wonderful Cast Members, noticed Tara wasn’t interested in a mimosa and surprised her with a delicious chai tea latte. That thoughtful gesture perfectly captured the outstanding service we experienced.
From 11:00 AM–4:00 PM, snacks included yogurt-covered pretzels, African-spiced nuts, house-made chips, rotating snack mixes, cheeses, hummus with pita and lavosh, occasional soups, cut-up Uncrustables, and cookies.
Mike loved using the specialty coffee machine each morning to make cappuccinos and lattes to bring back to our room. A variety of flavored syrups made every cup even better.
Evening appetizers were outstanding, featuring a beautiful charcuterie display, rotating hot appetizers like macaroni and cheese, batter-dipped sausages and BBQ meatballs, plus two chef-inspired small plates each night similar to dishes served at Jiko and Boma. Favorites included butter chicken with rice, spicy chicken with corn pudding, seafood chowder over rice and tomato bisque with grilled cheese. Beer, wine and sangria were also available.
Dessert included miniature brownies, cheesecakes, mousse domes and cookies, plus complimentary Irish Cream Liqueur, Cognac, Grand Marnier and Kahlúa. A freezer stocked with Mickey Premium Bars, Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches and frozen fruit bars was also available.

Make the Most of Checkout Day
Club Level access continues until midnight on your checkout day. We spent two nights in a Club Level Studio before moving to a Resort View One-Bedroom Villa and were still able to enjoy the lounge. Be sure to ask for an elevator access key because your room key stops working for Club Level after checkout.

Is Club Level Worth It?
For us, absolutely. If your goal is a relaxing resort getaway, Club Level delivers exceptional service, wonderful food, specialty coffees, evening drinks and unforgettable savanna views. It transformed Animal Kingdom Lodge into a destination rather than simply a place to sleep.
We’ll never forget sipping Mike’s morning lattes while watching giraffes stroll across the savanna. Sometimes the best Disney memories come from slowing down.
If we plan another resort-focused Disney getaway or celebrate a special occasion, we’d book Club Level again without hesitation.
